This website is designed to tell you a little about the history of acupuncture, what to expect during a treatment and what conditions may be helped and even alleviated.

After working for several years within the environmental sector, I trained to be a nurse (RGN) specialising in cardiothoracic post–op treatment. Within my nursing career it has become apparent that the general public are far more aware of alternative treatments and are willing to try them as opposed to just following the conventional route of medicines, lotions and potions prescribed by G.P´s, hospitals and pharmacies. It is with this in mind that my interest in acupunture grew and I gained my qualification with the British Academy of Western Medical Acupuncture. The methods used are designed to suit the western way of life, the problems and illnesses experienced and the medical sources of treatment.

Acupuncture may be classed in many categories as it not only improves and cures long standing problems, but also enhances the individuals well– being and can give them a personal boost of energy!!

Traditional Chinese acupuncture is considered to be one of the more acceptable forms of alternative therapies used in the Western and Modern World and is widely practiced throughout. For many people, the idea of acupuncture is an attractive one if they are wishing to steer clear of, or limit their use of medication, especially if they are concerned about the several unwanted side effects many medications can create. Examples of which are dizziness, constipation, dry mouth and eyes, and other fairly uncomfortable complaints.
